The IRES server does not accept incoming email. However, for those who want to manage mail from IRES, the pine command is installed and configured to access Exchange email via IMAP.

Entering the pine command will display a login prompt with a default login name of your IRES username. You can accept this default by pressing return or enter an alternate name if your Exchange account does not have the same name as your IRES account. Enter your Exchange password to complete the login. Your INBOX and other Exchange folders will appear in the pine folder list.
