Custom Census 2000 Areas in Kansas

Here you can define your own custom areas for tabulation of Census 2000 data for Kansas. The area definitions will remain on our Web site as space permits.

Some data are available only for tracts and larger geographic units. Those values will not be aggregated for any custom area which has a block or a block-group as one of its components.

For complete information about Census data, see the Bureau of the Census Web site. www.census.gov

Defining areas.

You can define a custom area either by working down from the county level to select smaller areas, or starting from an address and selecting all of the blocks within a chosen distance of the address.

Please note: SF1 and SF3 profiles, population pyramids, and more have already been compiled for single counties and cities.

Display a SF1 profile for an already defined custom area.

NOTE: The profile may take up to a minute to compile. Please do not click twice. Also note that some statistics in the profile, such as median age, cannot be aggregated from smaller areas. Those statistics will appear as a single dot "." unless your custom area is just a single geographic unit (e.g. one tract).

Display a SF3 profile for an already defined custom area.

Note that any custom area defined using any blocks will not be able to display a SF3 profile, since these data are not available at the block level.
